I am not really very interesting. Photography is a passion of mine. I have been at it for quite a while and have won awards at a national level. A couple things kind of bug me about having my pictures rated or commented upon here on Gather. What are the credentials of people rating my images? Why is it any of their business to rate my life's passion? I receive innocuous comments, such as, "Nice picture." I wouldn't post if if I didn't think it was a nice picture.
I consider myself a street photographer, making an artistic statement from human expression or other found circumstances in an environment. Fine art photography is not challenging to me, in fact, I find it boring.
The concept of 'Pinging' is a little pragmatic to me. Is the Ping a salute, a compliment, a nudge, a slap on the back or a poke in the ribs?
